Artist in Residence Program – Valles Caldera National Preserve
The Artist in Residence program at Valles Caldera National Preserve offers two to four-week residencies for artists from various creative fields. Selected artists stay in historic buildings and must present a public art program and donate a work inspired by their stay in the park. The residency includes accommodation and the use of a vehicle for local travel but does not cover travel to the park and meals. Applications are open from 1 to 15 March 2026 via Volunteer.gov. Artists must submit a resume, a statement of intent, a concept for the public program, and samples of their work. After selection, five artists will be invited to participate and carry out a public program. The park retains rights to the donated artworks.
