For organizers: promote an art contest (checklist)

Publishing a call isn’t enough. Distribution is the real game. Here’s a simple plan to increase qualified applications without wasting budget.

1) Minimum press kit

  • one strong hero image
  • short blurb (100–150 words)
  • eligibility + deadline in one line
  • concrete rewards/benefits
  • official link + contact

2) Channels that usually work best

  • newsletter (if you already have one)
  • social posts with clear CTA (deadline + reward)
  • partners (schools, associations, spaces, galleries)
  • specialized directories (high-intent audiences)

3) Timing: don’t post once

Simple cadence (adapt to your timeline):

  • T-30: announcement
  • T-14: reminder
  • T-3: last call

4) Why directories help (especially early on)

They capture high-intent users: people already searching for opportunities. That’s efficient distribution.
