The Engaging Artists Commission by More Art is dedicated to emerging artists based in the United States, interested in public and socially engaged art. The call for the 2026/27 edition opens on 9 March 2026, with a deadline of 8 April 2026. This opportunity is aimed at early-career artists who wish to develop projects focused on the theme of inclusivity. The award consists of $8,000, along with curatorial, conceptual, and budget support, with the possibility to present projects in public spaces in New York City between spring and fall 2027. Selected candidates will begin working with the More Art team in September 2026. Projects are encouraged to be participatory and rooted in community dialogue, exploring tensions between individual and collective identity. The initiative does not require previous experience but does require a strong interest in public art and social activism.
